Instead it’s more likely to be considered an afterthought, unremarkable or go entirely unnoticed. But typography manifests itself in many ways inside and outside the walls of the social network. Honorably serving the content of a global audience of more than a billion people may be one of Facebook’s biggest scalability challenges, covering an increasingly complex spectrum of devices, platforms and network conditions. This talk is a peek behind the typography curtain at Facebook, the landscape of type choices available for digital experiences at a massive scale and its impact on international markets and developing countries.
